The Sacred is a documentary video about Little Syria, a neighborhood which is located at the foot of the World Trade Center in Manhattan, and the transformations it has gone through from the late 19th century to today. Little Syria was largely destroyed by the construction of the Brooklyn Battery Tunnel in the 1940s. It is now in the process of being completely erased by real estate development that dramatically accelerated after 9/11.
