On September the 10th, a 23 year old young man named Ahmet Atakan died due to
a doubtful reason during the ODTU protests in Antakia, Turkey. On the following day,
thousands of people gathered for protesting his death in Taksim, Istanbul. The protest turned into clash in a short span of time. The police intervened with tear gas, water cannons and rubber bullets while the protesters set off fi reworks against the police. The demonstrations kept on all night on Istiklal Street and the by-streets. Many people were taken into custody. There are casualties.
Justice Chain Protest For Berkin Elvan (9 September 2013, Okmeydanı)

On June the 16th during the Gezi protests, 14 year-old Berkin Elvan was shot in the
head by a gas canister of the police at close range in Okmeydanı district in Istanbul
and he has been in coma since that day. Today (9th of September) a group of people
including his family, neighbors, friends and Gezi protesters tried to march from the
street he was shot to the courthouse in Çağlayan and make a statement to the press
asking for justice and demanding the arrest of the perpetrator. However the police did not allow them and intervene with tear gas and water cannons. Then some protesters threw rocks and molotov bombs to the police. The clashes lasted for hours, there were casualties.
Hakan Yaman, Who Lost One of His Eyes During Gezi Protests

On June the 3rd in the evening, the police after the Gezi protesters in Sarigazi, Istanbul caught a driver named Hakan Yaman who is not a protester on the street near his home, beat him, tortured him, put his eye out and let him die in fi re. He was saved by people after the police left and taken to the hospital. Now he tells what happened that night and how he feels about it.

The Kazlıçeşme Demonstration was the second of the big meetings that AKP and the prime minister Tayyip Erdoğan was ‘heralding’ the termination of the Gezi protests on June 16, 2013. The fi lm documents this meeting which is one of the most important turning points of the Gezi period.
Resistance of Kazova Workers

Kazova textile workers began their resistance movement on February 27, 2013 after
their dismissal with their unpaid wages for the last four months and severance pay.
Then on April 28, they set a resistance tent in front of the factory and on June 28 they
occupied it. Since then they have been producing pullovers with the machines they
repaired after the occupation. They still keep on resistance and here they tell about
their project of production without a boss.
